Honoring the Republic Day

It was a day when the government of India act 1935 was replaced as the governing document by the new constitution. Since then 26th January was celebrated as republic day in India.

The entire nation gathers to celebrate this day with Delhi being the center location. The main celebration is held in this capital where the governor of the state hosts the national flag, same followed throughout the nation. This day is considered as national holiday however right from children to old age gather in specific location like schools, colleges and political institutes to commemorate this day by hosting national flags with national anthem and singing patriotic songs. While in New Delhi, the national capital welcomes thousands of people including political parties and soldiers.

People gather at India Gate located at Delhi for flag hosting ceremony in the morning. Hundreds of soldiers come across to become a part of annual Republic Day parade. For this, soldiers are specially trained to do a grand parade and military salute to the Indian president and state governors. The event begins with the Prime Minister of India laying a wreath at the Amar Javan Jyoti, India Gate. This is done to remember the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for giving independence to India. The president of India takes military salute at India Gate during this parade and the stated governors take the same in state capitals.
