Emirates is back with another great yet breathtaking commercial. Recently, Emirates Airlines stunned people when they saw a woman on top of the world on Emaar’s Burj Khalifa. As if that wasn’t enough to drive everyone insane, their new commercial took things to next level. Nicole Smith Ludvik, a courageous professional skydiver, was featured in the advertisement once more.

She was shown carrying a placard that read “I’m still here” in the first one, and she continues to alter many of them, promoting Dubai Expo, the world’s largest show, and giving foreign visitors another reason to fly with Emirates.”Finally, here come my friends,” says one of the cards, and a massive Emirates Airbus A380 painted as Dubai Expo can be seen behind her.

The perfect timing of the aircraft with special Dubai Expo themed flying past Smith Ludvik has left netizens awestruck and created a buzz on social media. But how did Emirates made it possible? Although the video may seem easy, Emirates stated that the video was shot after “meticulous planning”. During the planning stages Emirates Pilots, Flight Operation teams, Air Traffic Controllers, Drone Operators , Filming team, Marketing team, Emaar team,and Regulatory Team all collaborated closely to discuss every detail, aspect of the mission, the risk assessment, area flown over, wind weather conditions, and more.

The biggest aspect of this challenging shoot was to fly the aircraft at a speed of 145 knots which is really slow for an A380 plane. This aircraft was flying over half a mile away from Nicole Ludavik. The plane took 11 rounds of Burj Khalifa to get the perfect shot. Furthermore, the team worked closely with Dubai ATC to guarantee that all activity was protected by blocking the airspace with a Temporary Restricted Area during all of the team’s holding patterns.

For the actress to stand on while filming at the top, a custom platform with a pole was built. “She was attached to the pole as well as two other different points directly to the pinnacle, through a hidden harness under the Emirates uniform,” said Emirates. The ad was shot from sunrise to sunset and took around five hours to finish, discounting the one hour and 15 minute trek to the peak.
